Use of AI in recruiting

We want to be open and transparent about how AI is used in our hiring process. These tools can improve efficiency and consistency, but they don’t replace human judgement or decision-making. At Magnopus, hiring is ultimately about people – not software.

What AI can and can’t do in our process

AI may help with:

  • Identifying potential candidates from publicly available professional profiles.

  • Transcribing interviews.

  • Summarising discussions.

  • Supporting consistent note-taking.

These tools essentially act as a smart assistant in the background.

AI will not be used for:

  • Screening or filtering CVs.

  • Determining suitability.

  • Recommending rejections or selections.

  • Predicting personality traits or behaviour.

  • Replacing human judgement.

  • Making any hiring decisions.

Every application is reviewed by a real person. Every interview is evaluated by a real person. Every hiring decision is made by real people.

Candidate sourcing (AI-assisted)

We may use AI-driven search tools to help identify potential candidates who might be a match for a given role. These tools might order or group candidates based on keyword alignment or experience. We never rely solely on AI suggestions. A human reviews profiles before outreach, and the final determination of whether to engage a candidate is made by us, not the tool.

Interview support (AI transcription)

We may use AI-assisted tools during interviews to securely transcribe and summarise the conversation. These tools exist to help the interviewer stay present and focused, rather than typing notes. Candidates are always notified ahead of time and can opt out if they wish, with no negative impact on their application.

Data privacy & security

We treat candidate information with respect and care.

  • Any interview transcripts or summaries are stored securely.

  • Access is limited to the hiring team.

  • Candidate data isn’t shared externally for model training.

  • Candidates can request deletion of AI-generated transcripts at any time.

Commitment to fairness

We recognise that AI systems can reflect bias present in broader historical data. That’s why tools are used cautiously and consciously, and why human judgement always takes precedence.

Questions?

If you ever have a question about how AI is being used in our recruiting process, please ask. We’re always happy to explain how these tools are used and what they mean for candidates and hiring teams alike.
